Engineer with a specialization in "Materials" (Universidad de Zaragoza, 2002) and PhD in Materials Science and Technology (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, 2007). Researcher at University of Surrey and University of Birmingham in Prof P. R. Slater group. Joined the "Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Aragón", ICMA, (CSIC-Universidad de Zaragoza, Spain) in 2010, obtaining first a JAE-DOC contract funded by CSIC and afterwards a Juan de la Cierva postdoctoral fellowship and a Ramón y Cajal fellowship from "Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades" (2018 call).
Main research topic is the study and development of new materials for efficient energy generation and storage applications, including solid oxide fuel cells,  Li and Lead-acid batteries. This goal is approached in a multidisciplinary way, paying attention to their chemistry, physical properties and processing conditions in real application devices.
Participation in more than 25 research projects, national and international, including 3 as Principal Investigator: a "Retos Investigación-JIN" project from MINECO funded with 145.200 Eur (2019-2022),  a basic research project funded with 40.000 Eur for 1 year (2016) by Fundación Domingo Martínez and an industrial contract with EXIDE Technologies of 108.900 Eur for 2 years (2018-2020). More than 43 SCI articles, 77% of them in journals from Q1. The application-oriented nature of this research is highlighted in industry-driven projects, being the most significant ones that with Saint Gobain CREE on new electrodes for solid oxide fuel cells (332.845 Eur, private funding) and that with EXIDE Technologies on the optimization of batteries (577.246 Eur total budget, "Retos-Colaboración" national program). These collaborations include technology transfer activities such as one licensed patent with Saint Gobain.

Teaching activities and tutoring of young scientists, include the supervision of 2 PhD and more than 10 Final Year and Master thesis students, as well as over 100 lecturing hours.
